Our variable imaging department utilizes laser, thermal transfer, direct thermal and U.V. curable ink jet.
We have been producing consecutive barcodes/numbers and variable information for years, using mainly thermal transfer which produces quality labels on a lot of different substrates but is relatively slow and can be expensive.
To overcome these limitations we recently installed a DOMINO U.V. curable ink jet unit in-line on our 7 color multi-web press. With this addition we are now capable of producing quality consecutive barcodes/numbers or variable information at up to 300 feet/min. ranging from 90dpi for jumbo numbers and letters to 286dpi for quality barcodes and logos.
We decided to install this unit on our multi-web press to give us the greatest flexibility, not only does it allow us to provide simple consecutively printed labels but we can also variable print or barcode/number on our integrated labels and cards.
Since this utilizes U.V. ink technology it is capable of printing not only on paper, but a wide range of synthetic materials also.
There are several standard colors available, but we also have the capability to provide PMS matches for a one time upcharge.
